Art, I believe, is Foundational to quality of life.

ARTIST STATEMENT

Some may see art as an indulgence, but I’ve come to find that it is foundational to my quality of life. Without it, life feels dull; with it, life expands and breathes. Creating art grounds me, reminding me what it means to be human.

Painting or drawing becomes a meditation where my mind quiets, my breath slows, and I’m fully present. It’s not just about the final piece but the joy of creative flow. Since the mid-1990s, I’ve been making soul-generated art—intuitive, unplanned, yet often carrying intention. It’s an expression of my innermost self, possibly even a connection with the Divine, requiring surrender to the process.

My art isn’t just about technique or aesthetics. It’s deeply personal, intuitive, and expressive. It channels emotions, experiences, and my inner truth onto paper or canvas, often carrying messages of healing and transformation.

Others have said my work resonates deeply, bypassing logic and speaking to the soul. At one point, I created personal images for others, allowing my intuitive process to guide the work in a way that felt meaningful and uniquely tailored to them.

“Kurt goes in deep to study your soul and comes out with a powerful rendering of your essence. He helps us recognize and remember our highest and greatest selves. He can see more in us than we can see in ourselves which not only engenders hope but challenges us to reach our highest potential.”
-Marilyn M.

Ultimately, creating soul-generated art is a meditation for me. It’s a soul-to-soul conversation, guided by intuition and heart.

Kurt Oravecz - Background

As a child, creating was my favorite form of play, leading my parents to enroll me in art classes. In parochial school, nuns tapped my artistic talent for worship art. I later majored in Architecture at Penn State, where I explored sketching, 3D forms, scale, proportion, color, texture, and their poetic interplay. Studying abroad deepened my artistic and architectural perspective through classes and tours across Europe. This foundation led to a fulfilling career as an architect, designing notable commercial buildings and custom residences.

In my mid-30s, my wife and other spiritually minded women encouraged me to explore soul-generated art. Creating art became a joyful counterbalance to architecture’s precision. I blend both passions, infusing artistry into buildings and interiors to bring beauty and creativity into daily life.

A recent health journey for a serious diagnosis has motivated me to pivot towards making more art. I’ve come to believe that art can be provocative as a reminder of the power of love in a healing journey. I’m in for creating more of it. Pennsylvania is our current homebase from where my wife and I enjoy traveling to visit with family and to continue to find enrichment in exploration.
